Copernicus in Color!

Copernicus crater, a 96 km wide crater on the near side of the Moon, is featured in false color in this image from the LRO Wide Angle Camera (WAC). Filters in visible and ultraviolet wavelengths were combined to bring out the subtle differences in reflected light in this image. Scientists use images like this to study differences in composition of the surface materials.
